Leaving
Nerja at 8.30 a.m. we follow the stunning Andalucia Costa east to Motril where our tour begins as we
turn inland towards the mountains.
Our
first visit is to the spa town of Lanjaron, where we stop for coffee or, if you
prefer, chocolate and churros.
Continuing
our excursion we go higher into southern Spain's Alpujarras mountain range, with stunning scenery and colours,
according to what time of year you visit it: in summer the pre-dominant colours
are red and yellow, in spring it is green and in winter you can see all the
white mountain peaks. In this way we arrive in Pampaneira, a small mountain
village where you will have free time to go shopping for typical products of
this area, such as fig-sweets, almonds-cheese, handicrafts etc. There is also
time for lunch.
(This
village is full of steep, cobbled streets, which is why we advise you to wear
some good, comfortable walking shoes)
On
our way back to Nerja we go past Orjiva and follow this road until we are back
on the coast, arriving in Nerja at about 3.00 p. m.
