Leaving
Nerja at approximately 09.00 a.m., this excursion visits the Village of Frigiliana, a small
inland village, situated just 6km from the Costa, which has won various prizes for
the most beautiful village in Andalucia, Spain.
Here
you have time to stroll the narrow, cobbled streets and visit the Moorish
quarter where a series of 12 ceramic plaques tell the story of the years when
the Moors were under siege and the battle of Frigiliana. (There is also an
option of a guided tour of 1.5 hours at a cost of 5€.)
From
Frigiliana the journey continues to the Caves of Nerja, one of the most
beautiful caves in Europe, dating back 200.000 years. Human remains, ceramics
and jewellery have been found and all these can be seen inside the caves.
Furthermore
one can see a column created by formations of stalagmites and stalagmites, which
is one of the biggest in the world. All
this history is rounded off with a 2 hour
