Itinerary: Day 1
Granada is the kind of city you can visit many times and still discover new corners.
The capital of Andalusia, its streets and plazas are charged with history and
culture, causing you to lose all sense of time. Stroll up and down following the
shadow of the city’s famous writer García Lorca, let yourself be carried away by
the sound of music and the scent of flowers. Get lost in the Albaicín, the Moorish
quarter and authentic architectural jewel of picturesque corners and fascinating
cultural diversity.
Granada by night means bars, restaurants and hubbub. Try the range of exquisite
cuisine: tapas, pescaítos fritos (fried fish) or gazpacho (a refreshing chilled
soup) are just some of the local specialities on offer.

Itinerary: Day 2
The magical kingdom of the Alhambra is a must-see when in Granada. The patios and
gardens of one of the most beautiful complexes to be built by man, transport the
visitor to a setting straight form The Thousand and One Nights. Alongside the
palaces you’ll find the Generalife, an enclosure of intimate gardens which exude a
sense of calm and which fill the air with the scent of abundant flowers.
Afterwards the route continues. You’ll leave the Andalusian capital behind and make
your way to the magical region of la Alpujarra on the steep slopes on the southern
face of the Sierra Nevada. From Lanjarón, world-famous for its mineral water, head
towards the famous Barranco del Poqueira –valley, consisting of three fascinating
white villages: Pampaneira, Bubión and Capileira. The panoramic views and roof
terraces of the typical houses, are of another time. A time when people lived a
simple way of life without rushing. A good way to familiarize yourself with the
region’s customs and traditions is to visit one of the small local museums.

Itinerary: Day 3
The Alpujarra region boasts many fine walking routes. Both the hotel’s immediate
surroundings and the paths leading from other villages, offer the perfect
opportunity to walk in a landscape of tranquillity and feel part of the local way
of life. There’s a route for everyone!
After a morning in the great outdoors, enjoy the best of traditional, local cuisine.
The best known dish is the Trevélez ham, but also well worth trying are the
different variations of Spanish sausage, the goats’ cheese and the delicious
pastries. A bottle of wine or a jar of the local honey; ideal gifts to take back
home!
Discover also the region’s craftwork, fruit of a long lasting cultural tradition.
Pottery and ceramic ware, textiles and upholsteries, basket and wicker ware...
A good way to get to know the region’s customs and traditions is to visit one of
the local museums.

Itinerary: Day 4
There is still time to enjoy the wonderful hiking possibilities of Alpujarra.
Or go admire the vineyards of the region, known for the height at which they are
located: at 1,300 metres, the vines grow on the highest cultivated land in the
Iberian Peninsula. One more visit remains before returning homeward. The Puerto de
la Ragua mountain reaches its summit at 2,042 metres above sea level. A spectacular
alpine landscape unfolds before your eyes, with magnificent views of the
surrounding mountains. The sense of achievement in reaching such heights and
witnessing such panoramas is the perfect way to end your visit.
As tends to happen, there will be many things you didn’t have time to see or do in
these four days. But don’t worry, it’s best not to do everything so there will
always be a reason to return.
